Building a resilient future for humanity

XPRIZE Health and Pandemic Alliance

Accelerating radical breakthroughs in healthcare

The COVID-19 Pandemic highlighted the glaring reality of what we all knew but conveniently ignored — that our healthcare systems are not resilient.

All aspects of the health care value chain are now being re-evaluated from patient experience to payer reimbursement to data ownership.

What we all can agree on is that complacency is no longer an option. The titanic forces of increasing costs, an aging global population, shortage of healthcare workers, the rise of non-communicable diseases and the inequalities in access to healthcare, combined with the cracks illuminated by the Pandemic, have created the perfect storm, or in our view, the perfect opportunity for action.

INTRODUCING XPRIZE HEALTH & PANDEMIC ALLIANCE — An extension of our existing Pandemic Alliance, this expanded global coalition of businesses, bilateral organizations, government agencies, academic institutions, nonprofits, startups, and foundations will be dedicated to accelerating radical breakthroughs in healthcare, making our health system more resilient and preventing the next pandemic.

Utilizing the proven XPRIZE Alliances model, the Health & Pandemic Alliance will identify gaps, focus attention on key issues, and catalyze solutions by sharing resources and knowledge, and crowdsourcing innovation.

A Platform For Solutions

XPRIZE Labs (XL) is a collection of XPRIZE proprietary platforms and processes that provide a safe space for testing, experimentation and validation of ideas and projects. XL has many utilities from crowd sourcing and vetting Alliance generated ideas, to testing and operating company and partner-specific projects with the goal of accelerating solutions and shortening the time to impact.

  • Exchange — A platform and community designed to enable an exchange of the many resources and needs associated with Pandemic Alliance projects and challenge competitions. The Exchange is an opportunity for partners to showcase their efforts and reach out to other Alliance members to collaborate around their efforts. A marketplace for matching projects, resources, solution identification.
  • Data Collaborative — The XPRIZE Data Collaborative is a powerful platform for collaboration, combining and merging data sets, AI tools, and bleeding edge insights and ideas with a community of innovators. Despite its wealth of potential, 99 percent of data sits dormant due to challenges to interoperability, privacy, security, usage rights, and integrity, ultimately resulting in missed opportunities and duplicative efforts. The XPRIZE Data Collaborative solves this problem, for good, democratizing access for researchers, data scientists, and machine learning experts. It serves as a trusted source of the truth and well-positioned to add value in that respect. Offering the right resources for experts to engage, evaluate and validate through the data.
